My last few weeks at home...

This is it. The home stretch before I board that plane and fly for 100 hundred hours acrosss the world. What does a person do before making a trip like that?? Well Trish goes on vacation!

Let's go back a few days. Last Friday, the 16th was my last day as head teacher at Rising Stars. I've been there for about a year and a half and I loved it...most of the time. But who really loves their job 100% of the time?? Anyway, my boss bought everyone lunch in my honor, which was very sweet, and my preschoolers all made me the cutest cards with their handprints on them. It was a bittersweet day.

Saturday was my going away party. I woke up way too early, but had tons of stuff to do. It was so great to see all my friends and family one last time before heading out. I saw friends that I haven't seen since high school, I was so excited! Shelley, Larysa, and Cindy were awesome in helping me with everything. A girl really couldn't ask for better friends!! I love them dearly and am going to miss them SO much. Shelley made these little cards for everyone to write down a memory they have of me so I can read them when I get home sick...how friggin great is that??!!? Isn't it funny how you forget some things until other people remind you of them?! I was cracking up reading them all! They'll definitely help me when I need them to!

And now I am in Florida. Yup, I'm in Florida and unfortunately for me, it is one of the coldest weeks Florida has seen! Yay for me!!! LOL But at least it isn't 25 degrees and snowing like it was in Connecticut :) I'm here visiting my sister and my neice and nephews for a couple of weeks. We went to Busch Gardens today and I think we're going camping this weekend. I haven't gone camping in years, so I'm pretty psyched about it!

I get back home on February 1st, then it's time to get ready for South Korea! I have to go to NYC and get my visa AND still make time to have lunch or dinner or drinks with every person I know before I leave!! LOL

I'm off to enjoy my vacation!
Love you all!

  1. What your students did was so sweet with the cards. Did you shed a few tears?

  2. So we'll see you soon! It'll be here before you know it. And then, before you know it, it'll be six months, and you'll wonder why the heck you thought a year was a long time :)
