Winter fun with the K-fam!

So instead of writing a ton of blogs with a couple photos, I thought it would be much easier for all involved to just write one blog entry about everything we've been doing the last few weeks. This is will also pretty much bring me up to date on my blogs, so ya'll can stop bugging me about until June...which will most likely be when I update again haha.
My last blog was about the snowstorm of the century. January was pretty much full of smaller snow storms and birthdays. I think the majority of English teachers in Korea were born in January. At least, that's how it seems. The first of many birthdays that month was OG's. Her birthday is on the 4th, which was the day after the infamous storm, so she got her birthday off. She and some of the ladies went out to lunch, but unfortunately, I was passed out with jetlag and didn't go. That night we all met at Gecko's. Of course, Emily got her birthday shot. The "shot guy" at Gecko's laid out some glasses of beer and then laid a filled shot glass on top of them. OG had to push the first shot glass with her tongue and this is what happened.

Her bday celebration was great!
The following weekend, we went bowling. Ben, Emily2, OG, and I hopped on a bus to Dongbaek to try some Korean bowling. The game is the same, but the venue is very different. What's funny is that you can usually drink anywhere you want in Korea. You can walk down the street carrying an open bottle of Cass and no one will look twice...but ya can't drink at a bowling alley. No drinking and no snack bar...what is this?!?! We were all a bit confused. Ben managed to smuggle some makoli in, but they made him throw it out when they saw it.

Next was Stacy's birthday. I used to work with Stacy at LCI, but she left and came back to another hagwon. She celebrated her birthday at Gecko's as well. It is THE place to be in Jukjeon now haha.

Then it was Emily2's birthday. We started at Havana for some "Cuban" food. Then Cafe Asome for dessert. Then of course, we headed to Gecko's.

Then it was time for another Panton party down in Gunsan. This time it was a Sweep. This is when the squadron says hello to the new pilots and goodbye to those that are leaving. We started out in Gunsan and then headed to a little place called America Town for good food and awesome dancing. It was at this time that yours truly was complimented on her "ghettoness." Apparently you can take the girl outta Willimantic, but you can't take Willimantic outta the girl! Anyway, we had a great time and I finally passed out around 5am after watching Napoleon Dynamite with my girl Stacy in a pilots room. Good times indeed!

Well, I guess that's all. It was a great winter with good times and good friends!
Love you all!
