FedEx is on crack!

So I FINALLY have all my visa documents ready to send to Korea! Yay, I was totally psyched this morning...I went and picked up my apostille's! I'm ready to go! I go to FedEx after work all excited to finally be rid of all this paperwork. I fill out all the information I need and bring it to the not-so-nice looking lady behind the counter. She asks me how much the documents are worth...how much are they worth??? With all the b.s. I had to go through just to be standing where I am standing right now...how much??? I told her they were worth MORE THAN MY LIFE! "I need a dollar amount, dear," she says to me in an unamused voice. So I add the numbers up in my head...let's see.
$20 for passport photos, $75 for a new passport, $25 for the background check, $5 for the fingerprints to get the letter of good conduct which is not accepted by korean immigration; but i should keep anyway, and $40 for 2 apostille's. Not to mention all the crazy mental anguish I've gone through in these past few months trying to acquire all of this paperwork.

Screw it...I tell her $50 and am done with it. I don't care, this stuff is finally going to be out of my hands!!!!

Guess how much FedEx is charging me to send a package that weighs .55 lbs. Come on...give it a guess. $25?? Nope. $40? Nope. $50????????? Oh no no no...imagine my surprise when the lady tells me $76!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I'm sorry, I just hallucinated. What???" "$76?? That's a lot of money!" Then the lady says "Well, DEAR (this was emphasized very rudely) it's going very far!." Gggrrrr....I brought $60 thinking I'd have plenty to spare when I went to Target next.

So, I am still stuck with my paperwork. Hopefully, I will make it back to FedEx tomorrow morning before work. If ya ask me, this should be labeled as highway robbery...asboFUCKINGlutely ridiculous!
