So I've done some exploring...

Ok you can all stop sending the emails yelling at me about updating my blog. Here's an update. I did have a wonderful vacation in July...unfortunately I don't have all the photos from it yet, so you're just gonna have to wait for those. I have, however, been doing some exploring around Seoul, and those are the photos you'll see here....a LOT of photos!
We have a couple new teachers, Emily and Sally. Yup, another Emily...that now makes 3 Emily Teacher's at LCI. I have named them as follows: Emily1 is now O.G. Emily, Emily2 is now simply Emily, and the new Emily is Em...haha, did ya'll get all that?? So yeah, the new teachers are cool and have already been out exploring this beautiful country we're in.
My first exploration took me to Seodaemun Prison. The prison was built in 1908 as a place for the Japanese to interrogate, torture, and kill Korean independence fighters during the occupation. It is now a museum dedicated to teaching the history of that struggle.
This is us in front of the prison.

As you walk into the prison buildings, there are depictions of the harsh brutalities many Korean independence fighters experienced.
This tiny cell sometimes held up to 8 prisoners:

These are some of the torture rooms:

After the prison, we went to Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was the largest of the Five Grand Palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty.
These are the guards. They look like they're fake, but they aren't. It's kinda crazy. A bunch of people were taking pics with them, but I didn't feel right about it.

And me being a dork:

And there's that!
Love you all!
