Finally! Jeju pics!

My vacation may have been a month ago, but the pics are finally here! I'm just gonna post a few here, but if you want to see them all, let me know and I can email you a link where you can see them on my facebook page. This post will just be about Jeju.
To start my trip off, I took the KTX train from Seoul to Busan. This took about 2 1/2 hours. I then boarded a ferry that would get me to Jeju in just 11 hours! 11 hours?!?!?! Are you kidding me? No, I kid you not. I was ok with it though. The ferry set out at 7pm and went all night, so I figured I could just sleep on the way there. Here is the room I stayed in and the rules to abide by haha:

I thought I had the room to myself...until a woman and her 2 sons walked. They were very nice and she tried her best to speak to me in English. We basically talked about Sex and the City and how no one in America really lives like that!
As soon as the ferry docked, I took a taxi to the airport to wait for Catherine. When she got there, I immediately went to buy a plane ticket to go back to Busan so I didn't have to get back on that ferry! This also meant I got to spend more time in Jeju and do more stuff! Cat and I then went to the hotel and planned our day. Our first stop was Samsunghyeol, the origin of the Tamna Kingdom. These stone statues are called Dolharubang and are put in from of villages as guardians:

This is the whole in the ground from which the 3 brothers emerged:

We then wanted to check out these lava tubes that Jeju is famous for. We hailed a cab and started driving when the driver handed me his phone. He called a friend who spoke English and she told me that we were gonna have to walk a distance to get to the lava tubes. We decided this wasn't for us, but there were many other things we wanted to see. We learned that getting cabs all day would be pretty pricey, so we contracted this cab driver to drive us around Jeju Island all day for 100,000 won! Then we were on our way!
Our next stop was the Trick Art Museum! This was the highlight of my day in Jeju! I'll let the photos speak for themselves:

After this, we were off to the Jeongbang Waterfall. You can click on the link to learn more, and again, the pics will explain themselves. It was so beautiful.

After the waterfalls, we went to a Korean Circus. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos. The circus had everything from 4 -year-old acrobats, to girls who could hulahoop about 50 hoops, to 7 motorbikes riding in a sphere. It was amazing! We then went to the Chocolate Museum. There are more pics to come of this place, but here are a couple:

Mr. Pak then wanted to take us to Mount Hallasan. It was near the end of his time though, so he only took us a bit of the way up. He then brought us back to our love motel and was gone forever. I kinda miss Mr. Pak...he was good people :-) Catherine and I then tried to find this Mexican restaurant. It took the cab driver forever to find it. Then he got out of the cab and left the meter running while he made a phone call to figure out where this place was. I finally turn around and realize the damn restaurant is right behind us! The food wasn't that great, but then again, it was Mexican in Korea!
That was end of our little adventure in Jeju. We went to bed and prepared for our trip to Busan!
